The official first day of fall has come and gone, and now we find ourselves fully immersed in all things “Autumn.” One of the best things about the change of seasons is that we get to revisit some of our favorite fall recipes that we haven’t had in a while.

As you start to move into fall cooking, don’t forget to have The Original Tube Wringer on hand to help you get every bit of goodness from food tubes you need for your recipes. You may even discover a few new ways to put the tube wringer to work in the upcoming season!

The Original Tube Wringer in the Kitchen

You may be familiar with using The Original Tube Wringer to help squeeze tubes of pastes, condiments, frosting, and other tubes of delicious products in your kitchen. But that’s not all you can do with the tube wringer.

Do you use nuts in some of your fall baking recipes? The Original Tube Wringer is the perfect tool for crushing things like walnuts, pecans or other dense foods that can be broken down into smaller pieces. Crushing pieces of chocolate for smaller chips or melting is easy to do using the tube wringer as well.

Crimping dough or squeezing juice from lemons are more uses for your tube wringer. Get creative! This tool is here to help you add style and functionality to your favorite fall recipes.

Here are a few to get you started.

Recipe #1 – Quick Breads with Crushed Walnuts

Quick breads are always a fall favorite. The taste and smell of baked bread with a warm cup of tea feels like the definition of ‘cozy.’

There are plenty of recipes to choose from, like banana bread, zucchini bread, pumpkin bread, harvest loaf, and many more! You can find ideas for these fall favorites here

Some of the recipes may call for crushed nuts, (usually walnuts), crushed chocolate pieces or different types or spices or flavorings. Placing items in a plastic bag and running them through The Original Tube Wringer will help the whole process go smoother.

Recipe #2 – An Ice Cream Sundae

Ice cream definitely has its place in our hearts. It’s the perfect sweet treat for any season and celebration. Creating an ice cream sundae bar, complete with individual bowls of toppings, can be a great dessert option so you can share a sweet treat with your sweet friends and family.

Start with a large bowl of your favorite flavor of ice cream. Plan in advance what type of toppings you want to put on your sundae. For example, crushed walnuts or crunchy granola bars, sprinkles, small pieces of fruit like chopped strawberries or bananas. And of course, candy if you’re looking for an extra sweet treat.

The fun of this one is that everybody gets to build their own sundae and then enjoy the treat all together! The sky’s the limit as to what type of toppings you want to include in your topping buffet.

Recipe #3 – Oodles of Zoodles

If you’re looking for a way to improve the nutritional value of a great spaghetti recipe, you might consider switching out regular spaghetti noodles for their healthier counterpart…Zoodles!

So, what’s a “zoodle”?  It’s long strips of a zucchini that can be used in any existing spaghetti recipe in place of traditional pasta. Check out some easy spaghetti sauce recipes here and here to compliment your zoodles. Or use pasta sauces in tubes and squeeze them through The Original Tube Wringer.

Once you’ve created your zoodles, there’s one more step before using them in your recipe. Zucchinis are full of water. Too much water can make for a very soggy batch of substitute pasta. So this is where you bring in The Original Tube Wringer to save the day!

Place zoodles on a tea towel or paper towel, add a little salt, and fold over the cloth or paper towel . Let it sit for a while and the salt will help bring the water out of the zoodle strips. Next, run the enclosed zoodles through the tube wringer to squeeze out excess water. Once totally dry, boil them for about one minute before adding to the sauce.

Kids can help with this process too and have zoodles of fun helping make dinner with you!

Recipe #4: Pretty Pies

Regardless of the type of pie you’re baking, it doesn’t have to be an ordinary, average pie. Making a decorative crust is as easy as twisting, braiding, or making cookie cutter tops.

For example, you could cut out a leaf shaped piece of pie dough, place it gently into a plastic bag and use The Original Tube Wringer to crimp the edges. Adding texture to your dough can help create a pie that’s not only tasty but is also a work of art.

You can also use it to crimp dough for pasta to jazz things up a bit or close the edges of pastries quickly and efficiently.

Experiment with different types of dough pieces and strips and see what you can create for the top of your fall themed pie.

Using The Original Tube Wringer for fun fall cooking is only limited by what you can dream up.

So, what will your next recipe be?
